Why we built Kercel
We run a community SaaS platform. Like every SaaS company competing in a crowded niche, our hardest problem wasn’t building the product — it was finding people who were actually ready to switch away from what they were already using.
So we built a system to find them: scan the places people complain about their tools, fingerprint which tools a business is actually running, and score how ready-to-switch someone looks based on what they’re saying in public.
It worked well enough that we started wondering whether the tool itself was the more interesting thing we’d built — not just a way to grow our own company, but a genuinely useful way for any SaaS founder competing against a handful of named incumbents to find the people already looking for something else.
That’s Kercel. We use it ourselves, which means every improvement we make is validated by our own results before it ships to anyone else.
